How to Merge PDFs into One File

If you DON’T have an Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription, the good news is you can access a FREE version of Adobe Acrobat online that allows you to merge PDFs. 

You just need to sign up or sign in using your Google account. 

If you DO have an Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription, scroll down for instructions

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADOBE ACROBAT 

Step 1: Drag and drop your files
Select files and upload. 

Step 2: Reorder the documents
Once file upload is done, you can reorder the files by clicking the dotted icon on the left side. Then, click ‘Merge.’

 

 

Step 3: Merge the documents

You will be given options on how you want to extract your file. It is best to choose the original version. Lastly, click ‘Download original PDF.’

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADOBE ACROBAT PRO

Step 1:  Open up the two PDFs (they will appear side by side).

 

Step 2:  Click the arrow on the far left hand side of the panel to open up an additional menu.


Step 3: Click the image of the two pages at the top of the opened menu.
*NOTE:  this needs to be done on both PDF documents.

 

Step 4:  The window will look like this - a small thumbnail of the page, you can then drag this page into the next document.  

*NOTE:  you will need to have this window open in both PDFs for this merge to work

 

Step 5: This is how it will appear as you drag the page into the next document.

 

Step 6: Now the pages are in the one document, check that the order of your pages is correct and reorder if required.

 

Step 7: Save your file.
