The Power of a Branded Envelope

An Envelope has one job in life - to tempt you to open it and read what's inside. While Envelopes don’t always have the best reputation (delivering bills is a tough gig), there are ways to make them more appealing and create enthusiasm for contents within.

We all know direct mail has a much higher rate of return than email, so make sure you use it to your advantage - think of your envelope as golden branding opportunity waiting to be seized. You can convey a brand message right from the get-go, tempt the recipient with a clever or funny question or simply allow your logo to do the talking.

Credibility
A branded envelope sends a clear message of professionalism. In fact, a simple branded envelope shows existing and potential customers that a company has confidence in their own brand, so much so, they’ve invested their hard-earned in brand collateral. It’s a surefire way to convey credibility (and show the recipient you're worthy of their trust).

Creativity
When you design a branded envelope, remember it’s a great platform to showcase your creativity and give customers something to think about. Imagery and colours can communicate more than words if they’re used correctly, and putting a little time and thought into an envelope design can make a big impact. You don’t have to go stock-standard with a logo in the top corner, an envelope is a blank canvas and any part of it can be used.

Individuality
If the brand guidelines allow, step up your envelope game and try something a bit out there in your design. Use personalisation to capture attention, or a headline or teaser that’s hard to resist. Create intrigue, curiosity or an emotional connection with your audience. Get corny, get daggy, get your best dad jokes out if you want to (just make sure it’s within the brand’s guidelines).

Happy creating!
